Smithsonian update...

Below is the email I received from those folks at the Smithsonian:
Thank you so much for your entry in the Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition 2006. Over 4,000 artists submitted a painted or sculpted portrait for review. The judges met earlier this month and chose a group of approximately 100 semifinalists.
We are sorry to tell you that your work was not selected by the jury. We hope that you will understand that the quality of the submitted work was very high, and the decision making process was a grueling one for the judges.

We cannot discuss the judges' decisions.

We do hope that you will continue to be interested in the National Portrait Gallery, and that perhaps you will visit the Gallery next summer when we reopen to the public on July 4, 2006.

Thank you!

Wah- Wah Wah-

To quote friend and fellow badass with a paint brush Steve Memering,” You have a masterpiece there. If they cant see that they are fucking blind. And I hope they all get STD’S!!”

Well the STD part I made up, but you know, I’m just venting.

–SIGH-

Still painting…
